Burkert Type 2000 Inox modular-concept angle-seat valve
24 April, 2012Burkert has released the Type 2000 Inox modular-concept angle-seat valve designed to streamline custom manifold blocks. Customised solutions such as mixing, distributing and multiway functions can be achieved by a special modular valve body with highly compact dimensions.
Flow meter installed with minimum disruption
13 April, 2012When a pump station in northern Sydney required the installation of a flow meter to an existing pipeline, the downtime had to be kept to a minimum to avoid disruption of the water supply. The new section with the flow meter was put in place and connected to the remaining main line with two Straub Flex 2H 1296.0 mm pipe couplings. Because the Straub pipe couplings have a very short installation time, disruption to the water supply was kept to a minimum.
Grundfos CRFlex solar pumping range
06 April, 2012Farmers, irrigators and other water users can now benefit from reliable, above ground solar-powered water supply with the Grundfos CRFlex. This range of surface mount solar pumps provides a sustainable, reliable and cost efficient alternative to irregular water supply problems in remote locations.

Safeguarding Wellington’s water supplies
27 April, 2011The reliable provision of clean water is essential for any large population. It is now commonplace for water treatment plants to run autonomously and, for this to be effective, a reliable process control system is needed to supervise plant activities. Through the 1980s, distributed control system (DCS) architectures were widely used to manage these processes. However, many of these systems are now reaching the end of their design lives. Consequently they suffer from declining availability of spares and waning access to technical assistance.
