This course is designed to simplify LCA concepts while addressing key topics impacting packaging today, such as recycling allocation and circularity. Participants will also gain hands-on experience building simple LCA models using PIQET, a web-based intuitive packaging LCA tool.

Course Outline


Lifecycles’ Packaging LCA Course isan interactive, online course designed to help packaging professionals make smarter, more sustainable decisions using life cycle thinking.

Delivered across three 2.5-hour online sessions, the course provides hands-on training using PIQET, a web-based intuitive packaging LCA tool to assess, compare and improve packaging solutions. It is suitable for packaging technologists, engineers, designers or sustainability managers.


Participants will gain an in-depth understanding of:

  • The role of LCA in sustainable packaging
  • Recycled content and circularity strategies
  • End-of-life and recovery modelling
  • Transport and supply chain efficiency
  • Modelling product loss and packaging performance
  • LCA, circularity and packaging indicators
  • Design optimisation using LCA insights
  • Interpretation and communication of results
  • Relevant standards and governance frameworks

The course is suitable for those already familiar with PIQET or other streamlined LCA tools.
