Hydrogen and inert gas analyser

23 January, 2008 | Siemens Ltd

The Calomat gas analyser detects the concentration of hydrogen and inert gases in corrosive gases. It measures gas components such as H2, N2, Cl2, HCl or NH3 in binary or pseudo-binary mixes. It is therefore suitable for measuring tasks such as those found in chlorine-alkali electrolysis, steel production and processing, ammonia synthesis, fertiliser production, and also in LNG (liquified natural gas) plants.

LDO sensor

23 January, 2008 | Aqualab Scientific Pty Ltd

The Hach/Hydrolab LDO sensor is approved by the EPA. It uses a sensor cap that is coated with a luminescent material. Blue light from an LED strikes the luminescent chemical on the sensor, which instantly becomes excited. As the excited chemical relaxes, it releases red light. The higher the oxygen concentration, the less red light given off by the sensor cap. The red light is detected by a photo diode. The time it takes for the chemical to return to a relaxed state is measured.
