The Dimension 4i from LDS Test and Measurement is a data acquisition system that combines high-speed, gap-free data recording with real-time FFT analysis. The time and frequency domain system brings together the technologies of Nicolet, Gould and Dactron.

It is a 16-channel, self-contained unit capable of streaming all channels to its removable hard drive at 200 kS/s per channel. It can simultaneously process frequency domain measurements at more than 80 kHz real-time bandwidth. Each channel uses 24 bit ADCs for good resolution and accuracy.

Using a 15" high-resolution touch-screen display, the unit's user interface is simple to operate as the user navigates through test set-up, display customisation, measurement, analysis, data export and onboard report generation in a simple, yet non-tedious sequence. Post analysis and advanced reporting are managed using the Perception 4.0 software package.

The unit is modular and expandable. The initial release offers both a voltage isolation input module (1000 V input range), and an accelerometer module (ICP, AC, DC, TEDS).

The unit includes the following standard features: removable hard drive, DVD RW drive, PCI expansion slot, dual waveform generators, real-time digital filtering, onboard report generation and data export.
