Endress+Hauser's iTemp TMT125 is an economical solution for multi-temperature measuring points as found in distillation columns and bioreactors, as well as for normal process plants. The temperature transmitter features eight input channels for resistance thermometers (RTD), thermocouples (TC), resistance (W) and voltage transmitters (mV) and each input can be configured individually.
It incorporates Foundation Fieldbus (FF) protocol to convert the various input signals into FF-compliant outputs.
Features include the facility for RTD resistance thermometers to connect to 2-, 3- and 4-wire systems as well as the ability to connect eight grounded thermocouples to the transmitter.
ATEX, EEx, FM IS and NI approvals make it suitable for intrinsically safe installation in Zone 1 applications and as associated apparatus in Zone2 hazardous areas. The transmitter also conforms to the FISCO (fieldbus intrinsically safe concept) model, providing easy and fast design and operation of Fieldbus-H1 installations in hazardous areas without any additional costs.
The IP67 housing allows the unit to be mounted outdoors, while stainless steel M16 cable entries ensure safe entry of the sensor cable. It can be installed on a top hat DIN rail and is optionally available with an aluminium field housing which may be screwed directly onto a wall. It can be installed in areas having ambient temperatures ranging from -40 to +70Â°C.
Quick set-up and fast configuration of the relevant parameters is possible using the transducer block or Multiple Analog Input Block. Set-up values and measured data transmission for the unit are done using Foundation Fieldbus H1. Preventive maintenance is simplified with the use of the sensor monitoring system which automatically recognises and alarms on cable open circuit, short circuit, wiring errors and hardware errors.
