Weka visual level indicators

Control Components locally builds magnetic level gauges in Australia under licence to Weka (part of the ARCA Group) of Switzerland. Typically used in place of a sight glass to provide a visual indication of the liquid level in a tank, the process liquid never comes into contact with the brightly coloured indication flags, so tank levels can be read for years without needing any further maintenance. Local manufacturing processes allow for a design completely customised to suit any tank configuration.

Depending on the application, Weka visual level indicators (VLIs) can be locally manufactured in about two weeks from either stainless steel or +GF+ engineered plastics such as U-PVC, C-PVC or PVDF. Very high temperature/pressure units, seawater-resistant CuNi models and those requiring marine insurer accreditations (eg, DNV, Lloyd’s Register, etc) must be manufactured at Weka but are still typically only a month away from delivery.

While the basic VLI requires no power to operate, in applications where remote monitoring of the tank level is required, users can choose from a wide range of alarm switches and analog transmitters for level feedback. Standard or hazardous area approved level sensors may be fitted (or retrofitted) to the outside of the indicator.

Unlike other level sensing approaches, magnetic level gauges are operated by a custom calibrated float which is not affected by fumes, sink through froth and can indicate an interface level. They also have a viewing range of >10 m.
