Merger of water and wastewater companies

Thursday, 30 September, 2010

Ovivo - which stands for ‘Water for Life’ - is a new company formed as a result of the merger earlier this year of Christ Water Technologies (CWT) with EIMCO Water Technologies (EWT) and EWT’s American counterpart, Enviroquip. It will be suitable for municipal and industrial water, and the water and wastewater markets.

The company was officially launched globally on 13 September. The change to the global group name and the realignment of vision and values will provide the company with an opportunity to move forward as the demand for clean water, for process water and for water treatment increases. Ovivo will also look to add the extraction of energy from water and water re-use solutions to its portfolio of core technologies.

The strategy of moving from a series of independent, niche businesses with limited geographic reach, to become one global player, gives Ovivo the advantage of CWT's expertise in the water market and EWT’s wastewater experience, with access to the major markets in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Americas.
