Smith & Loveless acquires CST Wastewater Solutions

Smith & Loveless Australia Pty Ltd (S&L) has acquired CST Wastewater Solutions Pty Ltd (CST Wastewater). The two advanced wastewater technology companies have worked in partnership on projects throughout Australasia for the last 20 years.

S&L said the acquisition further solidifies the company’s position in wastewater inlet works and particle separation technologies, allowing it to deliver value leveraged through innovative equipment packages.

CST Wastewater provides expertise extending from designing a comprehensive range of specialised wastewater screening technologies — including fine screens for MBR applications — through to compacting, conveying, washing and dewatering equipment for both municipal and industrial markets.

The company is also a provider of a broad range of wastewater service arrangements, which will be retained and extended under the new ownership, said CST Wastewater Solutions Managing Director Michael Bambridge.

“This acquisition marks the next exciting chapter in the 30-plus year history of CST Wastewater Solutions,” Bambridge said. “CST Wastewater is a premier provider of innovative wastewater treatment solutions throughout Australia and beyond, and now as part of S&L, I expect its reach will grow exponentially, greatly benefitting treatment works and other clean water processes.”

Smith & Loveless Inc. President Frank J. Rebori agreed and said: “Smith & Loveless Australia will deliver the widest array of innovative and sustainable inlet works technologies for Australia and New Zealand.

“Combining the established brands of S&L PISTA Grit Removal Systems with CST Wastewater Screens under one roof creates a headworks technology dynamo in the water industry in terms of total solutions and unmatched performance.

“CST Wastewater’s emphases on cost-effective and energy-efficient equipment solutions that facilitate recycling, lowering carbon footprints, and improving water quality matches with S&L’s family of companies whose mantra is ‘Protecting Water. Protecting People’.”

General Manager for Smith & Loveless Australia and affiliate S&L New Zealand Joe Gill — who has worked closely with Bambridge and CST for more than two decades and will oversee the sales and marketing transfer — said, “This strategic move underscores S&L’s dedication to staying at the forefront of technological advancements in the water and wastewater industry.

“It ensures that our solutions continue to meet the evolving needs of our customers throughout Australia and New Zealand.”

Rebori expressed the organisation’s overall enthusiasm about the acquisition.

“Smith & Loveless is keen to better serve the various stakeholders in the region, which includes the water utilities, consulting firms, councils, industries, developers and most especially the citizens that need and deserve clean water,” he said.
