TES-AMM and KPMG partner on e-waste recycling
Professional services firm KPMG Australia has recruited TES-AMM as its official IT asset disposal partner, enabling the firm to act as a model practitioner in the responsible recycling of e-waste.
As a provider of IT asset disposition services globally, TES-AMM provides KPMG with tailored solutions to securely and responsibly dispose of electronic equipment. The partnership ensures sound environmental management of e-waste according to certified national and international standards.
TES-AMM services encompass all activities — from installation and pickup through to final disposal and recovery of precious resources. In the disposition process, returned assets of varying condition and functionality are individually inspected and processed, facilitating maximum value and resource recovery through resale, part harvesting or in-plant materials recycling.
Over 98% of all material is recycled at TES-AMM’s in-plant licensed facilities, where the extraction of precious metals such as gold, copper, silver and platinum is conducted using low-energy chemical methods. Assets span all manner of electronics, including desktops, laptops, servers, printers, peripherals and telecommunication devices, and audiovisual, network and storage equipment.
TES-AMM has also developed data protection and secure chain of custody protocols limiting ‘data in the wild’ occurrences that present significant reputation exposure to asset owners. Using the highly accredited Blancco data wiping tool to execute a triple-pass data overwrite, TES-AMM is able to certify data destruction to US Department of Defense Standards.
