Cleanaway acquires Waste 2 Resources
Waste management provider Cleanaway has announced the acquisition of Brisbane-based business Waste 2 Resources, effective as of 1 July.
The acquisition includes 27 Waste 2 Resources staff, who have transitioned across to Cleanaway; 27 heavy vehicle and yellow gear equipment assets; a transfer station in Narangba, which specialises in the management and recycling of construction and demolition waste; a skip bin collection business, which currently trades in the greater Brisbane area under the name of Green Bins; and a commercial and industrial collections business.
“The acquisition significantly increases our construction and demolition capabilities in greater Brisbane, adding to our existing post collections — or waste processing — facilities,” said Neil Perry, Cleanaway’s general manager, Qld.
“We will be operating Green Bins alongside our Brisbane skip business, as well as integrating the commercial and industrial business with our existing Cleanaway services,” he continued. Both of these businesses will be integrated into Cleanaway’s broader South Queensland operation.
The Narangba transfer station will meanwhile complement Cleanaway’s existing New Chum and Willawong facilities in South-East Queensland, according to Perry, who said the new transfer station will “strengthen our local collections services and operations”.
“This acquisition is a strong reflection of the growth journey of the Cleanaway business in Queensland and is another step toward achieving our mission of making a sustainable future possible,” Perry concluded.
