Funding for small businesses to go green
The Australian Government has provided more than $10 million in funding for small businesses to 'go green' and improve their operations.
Small Business and Tourism Minister Fran Bailey announced 44 projects under the government's Building Entrepreneurship in Small Business (BESB) program.
"The Australian Government is helping small businesses to 'go green'. Sustainable environmental practice makes good business sense and helps the environment," Bailey said.
"Successful projects include assisting small business to adopt best practice in energy and water conservation. Through this initiative, we are helping small business to do their bit to address climate change."
Funding has also been provided for financial management projects. Thirty-five training and mentoring projects received funding totalling $8.3 million and nine received $1.9 million for succession planning skills and mentoring.
