Tenix sustainable efficiency and performance analysis tool

Monday, 31 October, 2011 | Supplied by: Tenix

Tenix has developed a sustainable efficiency and performance analysis tool which can be used for infrastructure to identify and translate sustainability outcomes into long-term financial and operational efficiencies.

The tool: identifies activities to achieve sustainable improvements and efficiencies; benchmarks against established best business practices; prioritises initiatives using multicriteria analysis; and identifies actions that can be practically implemented.

Tenix experts were assembled to identify and prioritise infrastructure asset improvements on Tenix-operated wastewater treatment plants. The objective was to develop a methodology that examined the highly specialised wastewater treatment process, address the diverse issues encountered at the design, construction and operational project stages, and discover innovative sustainability solutions. The team generated over 300 initiatives which were rationalised into material recommendations. Improvements have been incorporated into the planning and design of future wastewater treatment plants and the approach is being extended to other infrastructures.
