Innovec Controls has launched its energy-saving, low-voltage LED downlight and dimming control systems for the Australian domestic housing and commercial markets.
The high-intensity LEDDL LED lights feature three, 2 W LED, round recessed downlights and multi-channel dimming control and are specifically designed for domestic housing. The lights are claimed to be more environmentally friendly than compact fluorescent and halogen lighting.
The 12 V downlights are claimed to provide 50,000 h product life and, according to the company, up to 30% energy savings can be achieved using the range. For example, a 50 W halogen lamp consumes approximately 1.8 A at 12 V, compared with LED lighting at 0.4 A at 12 V.
The Innovec system claims to provide a better colour of light when compared to compact fluorescents and it does not have the glare of a halogen lamp. Another benefit is that this system gives full dimming control of the lights to the user from full brightness to off with the simple adjustment of a potentiometer at the light switch.
