waterAustralia, in partnership with the Industry Capability Network (ICN), has appointed Rubin Mallows Worldwide to represent the Australian water industry in the USA. The appointment is part of a strategy being funded under the Commonwealth Government’s Supplier Access to Major Projects program administered by the ICN. Other funding contributors include the governments of Victoria, Queensland, South Australia and NSW, as well as waterAustralia itself and participating companies.

waterAustralia CEO Les Targ said this is a major step forward for Australian exporters of water infrastructure products and services, as with so many water issues in common it is important that we treat the US market as a priority.

“With the high level of US interest in Australia’s water management achievements in recent times, Australian companies have also started to attract attention, particularly in areas such as wastewater, irrigation efficiency, river basin management, stormwater, groundwater, water governance and the emerging concept of water smart cities,” said Tang.

“We are delighted to be working with Rubin Mallows. This is a knowledgeable and very well-connected organisation, with a track record of helping companies establish effective presences in the US market.”

Rubin Mallows will primarily assist Australian companies to establish collaborative arrangements and market channels to target opportunities best suited to their products and services.

“We could not be more delighted at the opportunity to work with the Australian water sector for which we have had a tremendous amount of respect over the years, associated with their integrated water management and planning, utility strategy and asset management and more recent attention on the water smart cities initiative,” said Ken Rubin, Managing Director of Rubin Mallows Worldwide.

“The concepts of waterAustralia and the Industry Capability Network are innovative and stand as a model for the USA and other countries looking to develop their water sector. We have assembled a strong team of US water experts and we are confident we can assist innovative Australian companies build their businesses in the United States,” Rubin added.

A round of Australian capital city workshops will be held during the second half of August.
