Shell challenges students to find future energy solutions
University students across Australia are invited to share their ideas about where future global energy resources should come from.
Shell Australia is facilitating the Global Energy Forums in October - a series of debates on future energy solutions, to be held in Perth and Sydney and attended by key industry leaders. Students can enter the debates by submitting a 1000-word essay; eight successful entrants will be invited to present their paper and participate in the debates, as well as receive a $1500 Coles Group & Myer gift card.
Andrew Smith, country chair of Shell Australia, said we need “innovative and fresh thinking” to meet the demands of the future, with a projected global population of 9 billion by 2050.
“This is a call to the future leaders of tomorrow to be active in the conversation about our future and a timely opportunity to discuss possible solutions to the world’s energy supply challenges,” he said.
Students should send their paper and details to shellglobalenergyforum@edelman.com. Entries are open from 9 September 2013 and close at 5 pm AEST on 20 September 2013.
