Hanwha brings Dawn Fraser and new PV modules to Clean Energy Week

Wednesday, 17 July, 2013

Australian Olympic champion Dawn Fraser will be attending this year’s Clean Energy Week, to be held from 24-26 July at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre. Visiting the Hanwha Q CELLS stand on 24 and 25 July from 3.30-5.30 pm, she will be available for photos and will highlight the importance of all Australians doing their bit for solar.

Hanwha Group is a $104 billion, diversified South Korean multinational, established in 1952 and active in the manufacturing, construction, finance, service and leisure sectors. It is the world’s third-largest photovoltaic manufacturer and is the major sponsor of this year’s Clean Energy Week.

Hanwha owns China-based SolarOne and acquired German-based PV company Q CELLS in 2012. It will have stands representing both companies at Clean Energy Week.

The event will see the unveiling of Hanwha Q CELLS’s new G3 range of PV modules for the first time in Australia, demonstrating how the modules generate higher energy output than those of competitors. The business will also reveal the future of battery storage by introducing the battery distributor Silent Power.

PV pioneer Paul A Basore will be representing Hanwha at the event, speaking on 25 July at 3.30 pm about the next generation of solar cell technology. Oliver Hartley, Hanwha Q CELLS Australia Managing Director, will also present on solar market developments on 25 July, from 11 am-12.30 pm.

“Clean Energy Week is about sharing knowledge and putting plans in place for a sustainable future,” Hartley said. “It is one of the most important events on the Australian sustainability calendar.”
