Water transition key at Global Water Summit 2026

At the Global Water Summit 2026 in Madrid (18–20 May), Alfa Laval will be part of the conversation driving innovation, collaboration and action to accelerate the water transition and empower industries to build operational resilience for a changing planet.

The company helps customers not only reuse water but also recover valuable nutrients and energy from wastewater and sludge, supporting circular water economies and reducing pressure on freshwater sources. This holistic approach ensures that water reuse delivers meaningful, long-term environmental and operational benefits.

On the first day of the summit, Eline Suijlen, Water Industry Manager at Alfa Laval, will join a panel of experts for the session ‘Mastering the Industrial Market’, sharing insights on how to scale a water business rapidly. Suijlen will highlight Alfa Laval’s experience in delivering tailored solutions that help industrial users reduce their water footprint, optimise processes and accelerate sustainable impact.

“Collaboration across the wastewater industry is essential, as optimising water use not only advances sustainability but also reduces chemical and energy demands, amplifying positive impact. At Alfa Laval, tailored solutions and close partnerships are key to achieving meaningful progress,” Suijlen said.

At the conference, Suijlen will be joined by a team of experts from Alfa Laval:

  • Cristina Lisbona, Head of Global Sales and Service, Water Treatment & Industrial Waste
  • Jorge Diaz, Global Sales Manager, Municipal Wastewater
  • Zay Aw, Head of Marketing, Business Unit Water, Industrial Flow, Heat Transfer Technologies
  • Justyna Szczepanska, Global Product Manager – Revos and Membranes

As part of its commitment to fostering industry collaboration, Alfa Laval will host an exclusive mixer on the first day of the conference. The event will also feature insights on scaling innovation from concept to commercialisation, exemplified by the collaboration with an industry leader and the first commercial installation of an Alfa Laval technology.

“As water change-makers, we at Alfa Laval are responding to the industry’s most urgent challenges including water scarcity, rising quality demands, and the need for circular solutions. This year marks a pivotal step for us as we bring our full portfolio of water technologies together under one business unit with a clear and unified water strategy,” Lisbona said. “Our commitment is to help customers turn water challenges into opportunities for resilience, efficiency and sustainable growth, delivering the solutions the world needs when they matter most.”
