The TrojanUVPhox is a groundbreaking, pressurised ultraviolet (UV) light reactor that uses Trojan's high-output, monochromatic amalgam UV lamps. The system delivers powerful UV-oxidation of contaminants, either using UV light alone or using UV light in combination with hydrogen peroxide.

The system removes contaminants from water in water re-use, drinking water and groundwater remediation applications. The system has been applied in numerous advanced water treatment plants around the world designed to treat wastewater-derived contaminants that are present even following reverse osmosis membranes. The TrojanUVPhox is a barrier to nitrosamines (eg, N-nitrosodimethylamine, or DNMA), pharmaceuticals and personal care products, industrial contaminants (such as 1,4-dioxane), pesticides, and potential endocrine disruptor compounds. Removal of these compounds makes the water safe for all uses.

Designed using computational fluid dynamics models and other computer simulation tools, the system has been optically and hydraulically optimised to provide efficient and cost-effective UV treatment. Available in a variety of sizes and with several configurations, the system can be tailored to meet any sizing need. It is constructed from 316 stainless steel and is: integrated (via control algorithms) with the hydrogen peroxide delivery system; equipped with controls that minimise electrical consumption by dimming lamps while maintaining performance; available with a wiper mechanism for maximisation of quartz sleeve transmittance; and proven in drinking water, groundwater remediation and water re-use applications.
