The Sitrans Probe LU (ultrasonic) and Sitrans Probe LR (radar) continuous level transmitters are suitable for storage vessels, process vessels and open channels in water and wastewater, food and chemical industries.

They offer a longer measurement range and an improved signal-to-noise ratio that enhances echo processing features, such as Sonic Intelligence and Auto False-Echo Suppression, for greater accuracy and reliability.

The probes combine innovative transducer and antenna designs, and remote communication using Simatic PDM and Hart. Set-up is simple without opening the lid, even in hazardous areas, using the intrinsically safe infrared handheld programmer.

The LU is a 2 wire, loop powered ultrasonic transmitter suitable for continuous level, volume and flow monitoring in food storage applications, chemical storage vessels and open channels. The measurement range is up to 12 m on liquids and slurries. New echo-processing features include a low noise transmitter and noise shield. The transducer is available as ETFE or PVDF to suit varying chemical and temperature conditions of the application.

The LR is a 2 wire, loop powered, 5.8 GHz radar transmitter suitable for level and volume monitoring in applications with chemical vapours, temperature gradients, vacuum or high pressure. The measurement range is 0.3 to 20 m. It has a uni-construction polypropylene rod antenna that offers high level chemical resistance and is hermetically sealed. The antenna includes an internal, integrated shield that eliminates vessel nozzle interference.
