Spraying Systems has released a publication (bulletin 15C) dealing with tank cleaning. A comprehensive range of solutions for extracting maximum process efficiency by ensuring tanks are effectively cleaned is described.

The use of appropriate nozzle hardware in combination with automation can reduce operating costs to less than 20% of manual procedures. Nozzles available to address important operating cost and time parameters including considerations of residue, resistance to chemicals, cleaning cycle time, spray impact, coverage, etc are described in detail.

Cleaning systems described include motor driven, fluid driven and fixed spray array as well as ultra-clean solutions for CIP applications. Fully automated systems providing precise control of cycle times to ensure maximum cleaning efficiency with minimum usage of cleansing fluids are also described.
