New sustainability expo to help Australia transition to net zero

A newly launched sustainability trade show and multi-stream conference, named NET ZERO EXPO, has been designed to showcase tools and solutions for businesses, councils, property developers and households to cut emissions, reduce energy costs, prepare climate reports and meet evolving customer expectations. The event will run twice in Australia in 2025: first in Sydney on 27–28 August, then in Melbourne on 16–17 September.

“We want the event itself to be net zero,” said Craig Macfarlane, the founder and Managing Director of expo organiser Stirling Media. “Given that attendee travel accounts for the majority of emissions at any large event, we’re hosting the event in both Sydney and Melbourne, giving participants the option not to travel interstate, thus drastically reducing our own emissions.”

The event features 13 industry-focused conference tracks designed to address the unique needs of sectors such as manufacturing, construction, public transport, supply chain, local government, green finance and investment, clean energy, fleet management, food production, packaging and more. The exhibition floor will meanwhile showcase a plethora of decarbonisation products and services, including clean energy solutions, electric vehicles, sustainable building materials, energy-efficient appliances, recycling innovations, artificial intelligence, data warehousing, smart lighting, and carbon accounting and climate-reporting software.

The event will be of interest to business leaders and executives, sustainability and energy professionals, finance teams, councils and local governments, property developers and builders, households and individuals. Attendees can expect to leave the show with the knowledge, tools and connections needed to reduce emissions, lower energy costs, prepare mandatory and voluntary climate reports, and deliver on sustainability commitments.
