CleanUp conference to fight contamination

CleanUp 2013 will be held at the Crown Conference Centre in Melbourne from 15-18 September 2013. Leading international scientists will attend the event to discuss the latest tactics and solutions in the growing worldwide war on pollution.

The scientific and industry conference aims to stem the rising tide of toxic contamination from all sources. The event also incorporates the 5th International Contaminated Site Remediation Conference.

Highlights of the conference include:

  • Poo: a new weapon in the fight against climate change
  • World-first clean-up bugs due for trial in Sydney and Melbourne
  • Are all humans contaminated?
  • Nano- and bio-technology: new weapons in the fight against pollution
  • An Australian invention to help prevent arsenic poisoning
  • A guest lecture by Singapore’s Minister for the Environment and Water Resources
  • The launch of an Australian-led world initiative to fight contamination of people and the environment

The event will be co-hosted by the CRC for Contamination Assessment and Remediation of the Environment (CRC CARE) and the Australasian Land & Groundwater Association (ALGA). This is the seventh time Australia has hosted the conference.
