Marexim Xe Hybrid Convertible range of light bulbs

The Marexim Xe Hybrid Convertible range of bulbs combines the positive efficiency and long life aspects of modern CFL and LED lights with the instant full brightness, colour quality and dimmability of incandescent lights.

The range is also designed to reduce the amount of waste associated with spent lamps by using a replaceable components concept in its design. This means that rather than replacing the whole bulb when it fails, the damaged filament can simply be replaced, and the base and glass top are re-used.

Designed in New Zealand by Marexim, the replaceable filament capsule can provide over 5000 h of service and has been granted the status of C-Class Energy Saving in Europe. It is also possible to achieve power savings of 30-40% using the bulbs. For example, a 75 W Xe Hybrid can provide the equivalent lighting replacement for a 100 W incandescent bulb.

Over 1000 different combinations can be achieved from just 18 different re-usable glass tops, five different power-saving wattages of replaceable filament capsule and six variations of re-usable base. This makes the range suitable for most lighting applications.

All the bulbs are mercury and lead free and compatible with all standard dimmers. The packaging is made from 100% recycled material and the used filament is also 100% recyclable. With a perfect power factor, the bulbs can convert 100% of the generated power. For example, a 25 VA generation is needed for 25 W of power used.

An added benefit of the range is the reduction in the amount of storage space required for replacement lights, as only the filament capsule needs to be available for replacement. For example, one shoe box could be used to hold an entire hotel’s replacement lamp parts (being the filament capsules).
