The Powerboss Eluma system provides a low energy alternative to high intensity discharge (HID) lighting. While matching or exceeding light levels of a typical 400 W HID light, the Eluma system will only use around 108-230 W.
The reflector design ensures optimum light distribution from heights greater than 4 m and up to 16 m. The 230 W model contains all three colours from the colour rendering index (CRI), providing softer illumination that is evenly distributed.
There is no delay in strike time and the lights come into effect immediately. Typical 400-1000 W HID lights require 10 to 30 m to cool down before they can be turned on again, therefore turning them on and off to match demand is not plausible. The Eluma sensor system can manage the on-time and degree of lighting and this feature can provide further energy savings.
Daylight sensors can automatically sense the level of ambient daylight and then provide just enough light by dimming or turning off lights to meet the requirement. Occupancy sensors can turn lights off after a predetermined time if no one is present - saving energy and doubling as a security feature.
Several models are available that use different lamp technology to meet user requirements, including T5, T6 (92-96 CRI) and a compact fluorescent version.
