Energy-saving lighting control

With a maximum connected load of 230 W, Powerboss Eluma is claimed to achieve significant savings over conventional HID (metal halide or high pressure sodium) or fluorescent lighting, which may have a comparative connected load of 450 W or more.

The efficiency of the reflector means that although the power usage is less than half, the light levels delivered from mounting heights of 5 to 16 m — typically in warehouses, industrial and production facilities, sports halls and swimming pools — are comparable or better than that provided by the fittings being replaced.

The system also automatically senses ambient daylight and/or the presence of operatives. It does this on a fitting-by-fitting basis. The individual fittings are then dimmed, brightened or switched off/on automatically to maximise savings and benefits. Along with energy usage reductions of typically 60-80%, the system provides a virtually maintenance-free solution and improves working conditions significantly by reducing glare and shadowing.
