Powerstar manufacturer wraps up a successful year

Thursday, 11 December, 2014

The manufacturer of the Powerstar range of voltage optimisation systems, EMSc (UK) Ltd, has announced 2014 as one of the most successful years in the company’s history, with an increase in turnover of 9% as well as many other achievements.

The company’s international office in Australasia this year built on its strong network of distributors for Powerstar. One such distributor, Corospark Electrical & Solar, won the Commercial Project of the Year Award at this year’s Master Electricians Australia Victorian Excellence Awards. The company’s voltage optimisation project at University of Melbourne, which involved installation of a 1150 kVA electronic dynamic Powerstar MAX unit, has resulted in a 12.75% energy saving for the university’s law building.

The company also received the E.ON Environmental Award at the UK’s Sheffield Business Awards. The award is presented to the business that has taken significant steps to promote and adapt and make environmental improvements within the business, reduce its own impact on the environment or to help others to do so.

EMSc Founder and Powerstar inventor Dr Alex Mardapittas, who was named as one of the Top 100 role models in UK manufacturing for 2014, said, “We continue to broaden our international reach and have successfully installed our first Powerstar products in a number of key international markets, including the US. We see these as stepping stones to further significant international growth.”

Dr Mardapittas thanked his team and said he looks forward to 2015, which he believes will be “another major milestone in the company’s history”. EMSc has already revealed that it will be unveiling its latest voltage optimisation solution, Powerstar Storage, in the coming months.
