Launch of energy from waste FAQs
Waste Management & Resource Recovery Association Australia (WMRR) and Bioenergy Australia are launching a series of energy from waste (EfW) fact sheets, with the first instalment focusing on thermal treatment launching on 30 July in Sydney.
The FAQs were driven by WMRR’s NSW Energy from Waste working group in an attempt to address misinformation in the media about energy from waste, including questions around safety, odour, emissions and its role in an integrated waste management and resource recovery system.
Working group chair Miles Mason will launch the FAQs and present on the importance of the document, the key questions it seeks to answer and more. Working group vice chair Shaun Rainford, from Arup, will discuss the importance of EfW and the work being undertaken by Arup.
