Indoor air quality the focus

The second annual Eco Expo Asia will be held 27"30 October. This year it will highlight the theme of "Indoor Air Quality (IAQ)', as this has become one of the increasing concerns in both the environmental health and safety field and the general public.

Following the success of last year's show, Eco Expo Asia 2007 has attracted exhibitors from all over the world displaying a wide range of products and services for environmental protection.

In recent years, people have become more aware of the concerns of IAQ. People spend as much as 70% of their time indoors and poor IAQ can have a great impact on their health.

Indoor air pollution is common in the workplace and this can lower productivity as these pollutants can lead to discomforts such as headaches, skin and eye irritation, respiratory difficulties, nausea and fatigue.

The Hong Kong government has taken various initiatives in recent years to address the issues of IAQ in the hope of bringing about improvements and preventative measures. There is an increase in the use of energy-efficient and environmentally friendly building materials and technologies to ease pollution problems and to achieve better IAQ.

Eco Expo Asia has taken action in response to the growing interest in this area and will showcase the latest IAQ products and services. Suppliers exhibiting IAQ products will be grouped in the IAQ theme zone for easy identification.

Jointly organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and Messe Frankfurt, Eco Expo Asia will take place from 27"30 October 2007 at AsiaWorld-Expo. The show will be open to the public on 30 October 2007.
