Filming the sun, using the sun
On the morning of 14 November 2012, the north of Australia will witness a total solar eclipse. Panasonic, using only its HIT solar panels and lithium-ion batteries for storage, will produce a live broadcast of this incredible spectacle live via USTREAM.
In May, Panasonic broadcast an annular eclipse from Mount Fuji, so this will be the second such live broadcast. This time the challenge is to produce a clear live broadcast of an even more dramatic and spectacular total solar eclipse.
Regular project updates are being posted to the project’s Facebook page, where users will be able to watch the broadcast.
The broadcast will commence at approximately 4.30 EST and will conclude at 8.00 EST.
