Broadspectrum and MPower form large-scale solar consortium
Asset management company Broadspectrum has partnered with MPower, a provider of distributed power products, in the formation of a consortium to target large-scale solar projects. Having executed a binding memorandum of understanding (MoU) last week, the two organisations will now work together to jointly identify, pursue and construct large-scale solar installations in Australia.
With the capacity to invest, build, operate and maintain infrastructure, Broadspectrum will lead the construction side of the consortium. According to the company’s chief executive of urban infrastructure, Sandra Dodds, “We have the experience in build-own-operate projects in the energy sector, and we look forward to using that expertise to deliver large-scale renewable energy infrastructure projects together with MPower.”
MPower will meanwhile lead the engineering and design activities of the consortium, making use of its track record as a power systems integrator with a focus on critical power applications. The company has in recent years completed many solar and battery storage projects and is now looking to accelerate its growth in the renewables space by targeting larger solar projects.
“MPower has a leading design and engineering capability that can be utilised across a greater range of projects,” MPower Director Nathan Wise said. “With Broadspectrum’s decades of experience providing integrated solutions, the collaboration brings a whole new perspective to the projects we can tackle.”
