Water recycling company receives award
Sunshine Coast-based water recycling company EcoNova was recognised with the Rising Star Award at the Q400 Awards and also saw its ranking in Queensland’s Top 400 privately listed companies climb from 375 in 2007 to 142 this year.
“We are very honoured to be recognised for our achievements by such a highly respected independent body,” said EcoNova director Christian Uhrig.
“Water has never been a more valuable commodity and we will continue to help Australians overcome the effects of climate change and contribute to the protection of this precious asset using world-class technology. It is very humbling to be recognised for our efforts and the impact businesses like ours have on the Queensland economy.”
EcoNova was established in 2003 to help meet the demand for Class A(+) quality recycled water with its MembraneSafe technology and now employs over 75 people and has a network of distributors and partners Australia-wide.
The company has tailor-made solutions for a myriad of clients including sustainable residential developments, mining accommodation, eco villages, golf clubs, environmentally sensitive communities as well as wastewater solutions for domestic applications.
“When we developed our state-of-the-art technology, the end goal was always the re-use of water to address the shortages, so the focus was always on safety, efficiency and world best practice membrane filtration rather than conventional treatment,” Uhrig said.
