On the back of its growing water business, Hyder Consulting has appointed two new Associate Business Directors for its water team - Colin Carr and Damien Abbott.

Hyder’s Managing Director for Energy, Water and Environment, Peter Morgan, said he is thrilled to welcome Carr and Abbott to the team.

“Colin and Damien’s extensive experience makes them important additions to the leadership of Hyder’s water business. Their appointments indicate confidence in the ongoing growth of our sector and I look forward to the positive contributions they will both make to our business,” Morgan said.

Carr has over 10 years’ experience as a mechanical engineer and joins Hyder from Kellogg Brown & Root, where he was Project Manager for the Coal Seam Gas Concept Study project for GLNG.

Morgan has more than 12 years’ water design experience as well as extensive experience managing multidisciplinary design teams. He joins Hyder from Tenix in Melbourne and specialises in the design of small to medium-size water and wastewater treatment facilities and the remediation of water treatment plants.

The appointments build on Hyder’s recent success with advisory and project management appointments to key utilities, technical and financiers’ engineer roles on major desalination projects and concept through to detailed design on water strategies and water integration management for heavy industry and mining.
