Aussie-made remote telemetry unit tech expands into NZ
CGI has signed a new reseller agreement with Landis+Gyr New Zealand to expand the availability of its Australian designed and manufactured remote telemetry units (RTUs) to utility providers across New Zealand.
The company said the agreement will support New Zealand utilities as they manage aging infrastructure, integrate renewable energy, and respond more quickly to faults and outages across electricity, water and gas networks.
“This agreement enables us to deliver proven Australian RTU technology into the New Zealand market with a strong local partner,” said Les Davey, Senior Vice-President, Australia, CGI. “By combining CGI’s operational technology capability with Landis+Gyr’s local presence, we are helping utilities strengthen the reliability and resilience of essential services.”
Operating in more than 30 countries, Landis+Gyr will resell CGI’s RTUs in New Zealand and lead local market engagement, supported by CGI’s ongoing product development and operational technology expertise in Australia.
CGI’s RTUs enable utilities to monitor and control remote assets in real time, improving situational awareness and reducing the time it takes to identify and respond to issues in the field. The RTUs are built for long asset life, strong cybersecurity and reliable performance in harsh utility environments.
