CNP AirPrex struvite removal and biosolids enhancement process

Thursday, 16 April, 2015 | Supplied by: Hydroflux Industrial Pty Ltd

AirPrex technology, by German group CNP, provides a struvite removal and biosolids enhancement process. It removes struvite (magnesium ammonium phosphate) from anaerobically digested sludge streams, thus eliminating potential pipe blockages and mechanical issues without increasing chemical use.

The technology creates phosphate fertiliser as a by-product of the process, providing a sustainable source of this diminishing commodity. It also reduces the phosphorus load returned to the plant by 90%. It is said to improve sludge dewatering performance, reduce polymer consumption, create higher cake solids and reduce a plant’s overall operational expenditure.
