Backflow prevention

The RP03 and DC03 series of backflow preventers ensure contaminated water cannot flow back into the public mains supply. Using the RPZ (reduced pressure zone) principle featured in Tyco's existing products and with thorough product redesign has further simplified inline service and minimises spares holding requirements.

The series protect main water systems against backpressure and back-siphoning, ensuring compliance with AS/NZS 3500.1.2003 and G12 water regulations.

The valves can be used for residential buildings, industrial, commercial and agricultural/horticultural applications. Hazards covered by Tyco's valves in these applications are high, medium and low.

The number of spares required to service all models in the series is quite small, which is good news for testing and service personnel.

The valves provide a neat and cost-effective alternative to provide an air gap - traditionally achieved by header tanks - to isolate water systems.

The RP03 features provide optimum protection against backpressure and back-siphonage, using two stainless steel check valves and a full stainless steel relief valve for long-life, trouble-free operation.

Available in size: 15 to 300 mm; pressures up to: 1600 kPa; temperature: 90°C 15 to 50 mm and 60°C 65 to 150 mm; straight through flow path for maximum flow co-efficient; and fully restrained check valve assemblies for safety.

Maintenance is simpler, as there is unrestricted access via a generously-sized top entry cover to all internal components in the 15 to 50 mm sizes and the relief valve is mounted on the underside on the 65 to 150 mm sizes.
