OneTemp, the Australian agent for Onset (HOBO data loggers), has announced that Upward Innovations, a manufacturer of remote data retrieval systems, has integrated Onset’s plug-and-play weather sensors into its DataGarrison satellite station.

The DataGarrison satellite station is a solar-powered environmental monitoring and transmitting device. Environmental researchers have web access to climate data from Onset smart sensors, deployed anywhere in the world, via satellite communications - even in extreme cold or humid environments.

The station automatically transmits weather data to a secure internet server and can remotely alert users of alarm conditions, such as low temperatures and excess rainfall.

The DataGarrison satellite station can be configured with any combination of Onset smart sensors. This includes research-grade sensors for measuring temperature, relative humidity, dewpoint, rainfall, soil moisture, photosynthetic light (PAR), solar radiation, wind speed and direction, and barometric pressure. Onset smart sensors streamline deployment, as they can be easily plugged into the station and automatically recognised without complicated wiring, programming or calibration.
