Hitech GIR5000 Zone 2 ATEX-compliant landfill gas analyser

The GIR5000 is a purpose-built Zone 2 ATEX-compliant landfill gas analyser designed to measure the concentrations of typical gases produced in landfill and biogas operations. The unit uses Hitech’s sensor technology and robust electronics, making it reliable in field use.

The analyser measures methane, oxygen and carbon dioxide as standard, although a combination of two or three gases can be manufactured to suit user specification. Hydrogen sulfide sensors are also available. Alternatively, if fewer parameters are required, a wide variety of single parameter instruments are also available.

The sample flow is monitored and alarmed by an electronic flowmeter. Adjustment and indication for the flow is provided by an indicator and needle valve arrangement mounted on the front panel. The system is suitable for sample pressures down to 20 mbar gauge. A pump is available as an option for samples with a lower source of pressure.

Readings are displayed at all times and are clearly visible through a window in the IP54 weatherproof housing. There are no complicated menus and calibration is easy, with no training required. There are no consumables and a sensor life of up to five years mean the maintenance requirement is very low.

Hitech realise that the analysis is only as good as the sample presented to the sensors. Sample conditioning systems, flow alarms and pumps are all optional accessories, depending on the application.
