Automatic spill barrier system

The BL/BED-PM fully automatic doorway spill barrier system is designed to contain spills, contaminated firefighting water, fire suppressant foam and sprinkler water.

It is typically installed in warehouses, storage areas and production facilities to bund relevant doors, drive-throughs and emergency exists. The Retention Barrier system can then be used to automatically section off facilities and guide contaminants into collection tanks.

The Spill Barrier can be connected to any fire detection system, eg, smoke detectors, sprinklers and flowmeters. Alternatively, the system can be fitted with its own hazard detection systems such as liquid detectors.

To ensure maximum safety for personnel and environment, the Retention Barrier is fitted with an acoustic and visual warning signal and the closing speed can be adjusted manually.

Sealing is achieved by affixing a flame-retardant material which is compressible, flexible and chemical resistant to the lower side and end faces of the barrier body. This enables sealing of crack-free surfaces with up to 20 mm (±10 mm) of floor/ground unevenness. Concrete, corrugated sheet metal, tiles and stones are handled with ease.

Usually, modifications to the floor are not necessary. The standard retention height can vary from 150-500 mm.

When installed, the Spill Barrier permits free traffic flow with no weight restrictions in the operating area. The system requires no rollover bunds and ramps.
