Name change sweeps in a new era

Monday, 16 July, 2007

The MacDonald Johnston Engineering Company, with a 55-year history in supplying street sweeping and refuse collection equipment, is now known as MacDonald Johnston.

The name change follows a joining of forces with Swiss-based Bucher Industries, a global technology group engaged across the world in the design and manufacture of machinery and vehicles.

Changing its name is a positive step towards globalising the MacDonald Johnston brand, company managing director David Waldron says.

"This is a really exciting time for MacDonald Johnston," he says. "Since joining the Bucher Industries Group in 2005, and with the continued growth of our business on a global scale, we felt there was a need to change our name to present a clear, consistent brand identity for the future."
