Bin built tough for Australian conditions

Superior Pak, a Transpacific Company, received AS4123 accreditation of the 240-litre bins in November 2011. This independent third-party product certification indicates the Superior Pak product meets the highest industry standard.

Anthony Roderick, Chief Operating Officer for Transpacific Industrials, said AS4123 accreditation was a requirement now specified by many councils and local government authorities for bin tenders so it was a significant achievement.

“We have invested a considerable amount of time and money in this process; and by successfully attaining this accreditation, we can now provide independent assurance to current and future customers that we are manufacturing to the highest standard and ensuring a product that is fit for purpose.

“Most importantly, the accreditation ensures our customers can have the upmost confidence of the product’s long-term durability, which is critical when you consider the years of use and abuse the average bin will experience,” he said.

Peter Rivers, Superior Pak Site & Operations Manager, said the bins were subject to an extremely rigorous testing regime as part of the accreditation process.

“The testing is intensive, demanding and specific to Australian climatic conditions, with an extensive list of physical, chemical and weathering criteria that needed to be met.

“Our technical, production and supply chain personnel, as well as external material suppliers and third-party engineers, worked tirelessly in order to achieve this beneficial outcome.

“Ultimately, a more robust bin means we are able to help our clients reduce their ongoing maintenance and replacement program costs,” he said.
