When Stockland required remediation of a site in Brooks Reach, NSW, it engaged Enviropacific to undertake the treatment of 1200 m3 of lead- and PAH-contaminated soil impacted by lead shot and clay targets. The works were completed on time and all conformance sampling met the disposal criteria.

The works included undertaking treatment trials to assess the proposed treatment method and verify it would meet regulatory and disposal requirements as well as preparation of the application to EPA for a Specific Immobilisation Approval (SIA).

Enviropacific undertook the screening of contaminated soil to remove oversize (>100 mm) material prior to treatment; on-site stabilisation of 1200 m3 lead and PAH impacted soil to reduce the waste classification to General Solid Waste; collection and analysis of conformance samples in accordance with conditions of the SIA; and transport and disposal of the validated material as General Solid Waste to an EPA licensed landfill.
