Veolia acquires Orontide

Veolia ANZ has acquired Orontide, an engineering and asset maintenance service provider in Western Australia, as part of the company’s global GreenUp strategy.

This acquisition is said to improve Veolia’s industrial service capabilities, integrating Orontide’s specialised services in machining, fabrication, fitting and assembly, and asset preservation with Veolia’s environmental solutions.

Orontide has a 45-year legacy in engineering services and a strong presence in the mining, maritime, and oil and gas sectors.

Veolia’s Industrial & Energy Division, with over 700 employees, will now have access to Orontide’s more than 250 skilled professionals and its technology and workshop facilities.

“We are really excited about what this offers to the industry by combining Veolia and Orontide, making both companies stronger and expanding their market reach into new sectors and offering a one-stop shop for an extensive range of technical services,” said Veolia Managing Director and CEO Richard Kirkman. “It combines Veolia’s market-leading industrial cleaning and refractories management expertise with Orontide’s specialised engineering and fabrication capabilities, so we can now deliver a seamless, end-to-end service that maximises efficiency, reduces costs and extends asset life.”

This acquisition adds five new sites to Veolia’s operations at Henderson, Port Hedland and Bunbury. The full integration and expansion will occur with no interruption to existing services.

“We love it when Veolia creates new capability to delight our customers with innovation, performance and efficiency. It’s what they want from us, and this enables us to extend our capacity and deliver bespoke onsite asset maintenance solutions, combining capabilities of both companies,” Kirkman said. “Our clients can expect enhanced tailored maintenance programs, rapid response times, and comprehensive support for their industrial projects as we set out on this combined venture.”
