The search is on for Queensland's inspiring environmental achievers
Queenslanders can now nominate their eco projects and programs for the 2016 Premier’s Sustainability Awards.
The awards showcase green initiatives from Queensland community and business groups that positively address climate change issues and show leadership in environmental excellence. They are a great opportunity to profile sustainability achievements and gain the ‘green marketing’ advantage that accompanies winning a major environmental award.
Featuring 10 categories, the 2016 awards are open to Queensland business, industry, rural landholders, schools, community, not-for-profit organisations and local government. Entries should relate to Queensland-based projects or initiatives that have the potential to be adopted or adapted by other organisations in the future.
Winners of each category will be presented with a $2500 cash prize at the awards presentation dinner, to be hosted by the Premier of Queensland on 17 November in Brisbane.
If you are working with or know of any individuals, communities, schools or businesses, no matter how large or small, whose practices or facilities could make them eligible to nominate in an award category, please encourage them to do so.
Entries close on 15 July 2016.
More information about the awards and an online application form is available at www.ehp.qld.gov.au/premiersawards, by phoning (07) 3339 5873 or by emailing premiersawards@ehp.qld.gov.au.
