Sustainable manufacturing and more at National Manufacturing Week 2017
Registrations are now open for National Manufacturing Week (NMW), running from 9–12 May 2017 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. Live demonstrations of the latest technologies and products will run each day on the exhibition floor, which will feature more than 200 exhibiting companies from around the world.
Themed ‘Delivering the Industry 4.0 Revolution’, NMW 2017 will cover five critical areas facing the manufacturing sector: Industry Capability Development, Product and Service Innovation, Technology Innovation, Process Improvement and Sustainable Manufacturing. Eleven specialist Product Zones will apply these categories to subsections of the manufacturing industry: Advanced Materials, Air Technology, Automation and Robotics, Digital Manufacturing, Electrical, Engineering, Process Control and Instrumentation, Research and Development, Safety, Supply Chain Logistics and Welding Technology.
2017 speakers will include CSIRO Manufacturing Director Dr Keith McLean, Advanced Manufacturing Growth Centre Managing Director Dr Jens Goennemann, Innovative Manufacturing CRC CEO David Chuter and Australian Advanced Manufacturing Council Chairman John Pollaers, among others. There will even be a panel focusing on technology for sustainable manufacturing, featuring John Lawrence from Sustainable Manufacturing Futures, Michael Lord from Beyond Zero Emissions, Peter Mulherin from ProductWise and Jeremy Osborne from EnergyAE.
“National Manufacturing Week is Australia’s only fully integrated annual manufacturing exhibition, and provides an unrivalled opportunity for delegates to network, collaborate and learn from one another, ” said 2017 Event Director Robby Clark.
“The 2017 theme and subsequent programming offers attendees the latest expert opinion on the future of ways in which people will work, advances in new technologies and process improvements as well as taking a deeper focus on global sustainability for the manufacturing industry.”
NMW will again be co-located with the Safety First Conference & Expo, along with Austech and the ISSA Cleaning & Hygiene Expo. For more information and to register for this free event, visit www.nationalmanufacturingweek.com.au.
