Utility company SUEZ environnement has announced several management changes, with Mark Venhoek set to commence as the company’s chief executive officer in Australia as of 1 September 2015.

Venhoek joins the Australian business with extensive experience gained within the SUEZ environnement group across Europe and Asia. He is currently the vice president of the company’s waste operations in China.

SUEZ environnement Australia’s chief financial officer, David Lamy, has meanwhile been appointed to the position of chief executive officer — Water & Treatment Solutions. Lamy replaces Roch Cheroux, who was appointed to the newly created position of chief executive officer of SUEZ environnement in South-East Asia.

Francois Gouezigoux has been appointed as chief financial officer of SUEZ environnement Australia. Gouezigoux was previously the chief financial officer of the Water & Treatment Solutions business.

Finally, Eric Gernath has been appointed as chief executive officer of SUEZ environnement North America. Gernath has served the group in Australia for eight years, over which time he says SUEZ environnement has experienced strong growth in the region.

“Australia is a very competitive market and, on the back of our proven track record in providing smart and reliable water and waste solutions, we have developed a business that employs more than 2600 people and generates $1.5 billion in revenues,” Gernath said.
