Solar installers certification program launched by REC

Friday, 08 June, 2012

REC has launched a certification program for solar installers in Australia, including warranty extension and service fees for those who comply. More than 100 installers in six countries are already certified as REC solar professionals.

The program, which has been developed by REC together with real installers, offers not only high-level training, but also access to a wide range of benefits. Each REC Solar Professional who fulfils certain requirements is able to offer a 12-year warranty to customers purchasing REC modules. This is two years more than the 10-year REC product warranty which includes a 25-year linear performance warranty.

“Our unique REC Solar Professional Program is the first REC certified training program for solar installers in Australia. We believe it will help installers deliver high-quality solar installations while providing them with the tools needed to grow their business,” said John Coates, REC Head of Australasia.

“Australia was the first country to certify an REC Solar Professional and we have already held training for 12 installers who are now certified. The installers are now part of a professional network which we expect will grow substantially over the next year.”

REC will compensate all compliant solar professionals with a service fee for approved claims. The program provides installers with the possibility of participating in exclusive training courses and seminars in order to deepen their knowledge and to support their business success. All REC certified installers are given access to an online portal offering flash data and module registration.

Solar installers interested in becoming an REC Solar Professional should be recommended by an REC distribution partner. Installers are welcome to register for free for parts of the portal.

The program is being rolled out globally in 2012. To learn more, visit www.recgroup.com/installers.
