NSW Premier to open IMARC 2025

NSW Premier Chris Minns will open this year’s International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC), reinforcing the economic and strategic importance of the event which brings together influential leaders in mining, investment, and resources technology.

IMARC 2025, held 21–23 October at the ICC Sydney, will attract over 10,000 delegates from more than 120 countries.

Minns will be joined by Hon Courtney Houssos, Minister for Finance, Domestic Manufacturing and Government Procurement, and Natural Resources.

Minns said IMARC is a valuable opportunity to bring global industry leaders to Sydney, showcase what NSW has to offer, and discuss how we can meet the challenges and opportunities ahead.

“NSW has a proud history in mining and resources, and the sector continues to make an important contribution to jobs, investment and regional communities across our state,” Minns said.

“The focus this year on innovation and sustainability reflects the direction of the sector, and the important role NSW can play in the global energy transition.”

Anita Richards, Chief Operating Officer at IMARC, said the Premier’s welcome address would set the scene for three days of networking, exchange of expertise and promotion of the latest developments in mining technology and equipment.

“IMARC has become one of the country’s most important business events, and this year’s scale and global reach will be unmatched,” Richards said.

“Premier Minns’ participation reflects the economic and strategic significance of IMARC to both New South Wales and the global mining sector.”

Business Events Sydney CEO Amanda Lampe said, “It is fantastic to see IMARC back in Sydney for a fourth consecutive year — cementing Australia’s place in significant global conversations on sectors vital to our current and transitioning economy.

“As well as generating an estimated $17.8 million of direct expenditure into the NSW economy from the thousands of delegates gathering in Sydney for three days, our research shows that world-leading conferences and exhibitions like IMARC 2025 are also a platform for collaboration, innovation and attracting investment and talent.”
