Nominations closing soon for Queensland Premier's Sustainability Awards
Time is running out to enter the 2015 Queensland Premier’s Sustainability Awards, with nominations closing on Friday, 14 August.
The competition acknowledges the achievements of Queensland communities, schools, individuals, businesses and industries in adopting sustainable business practices. Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has described the awards as “the Queensland Government’s highest recognition of sustainability and innovation”.
The program includes 10 award categories targeting community and industry achievements:
- Built Environment Award
- Business Eco-efficiency Award
- Community Award
- Innovation in Sustainable Technologies Award
- Minister’s Award for Leadership in Sustainability
- Rural Award
- Small Business Award
- Sustainability in Education Award
- Sustainable Heritage Award
- Young Achievers Award
The pinnacle award, the Premier’s Award, will be presented to an individual or group of individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to promoting and advancing sustainability in Queensland. The award is decided by the official judging panel.
The winners and finalists will be announced at an awards presentation dinner hosted by the Premier on 5 November at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.
