New Docklands HQ for Melbourne Water
Melbourne Water has selected one of the most sustainable and efficient buildings of its kind as its new HQ at 990 Latrobe Street, Docklands from mid-2012.
Malcolm Haynes, General Manager of Business Services, said: “This will be a brand new building that has been designed to a 6 star green building standard, which few office buildings in Australia currently reach.
“As well as being more energy and water efficient, this new building will mean we consolidate several smaller offices currently spread around the CBD fringe into a single place,” added Haynes.
The new building in the Digital Harbour precinct of Docklands was selected after a tender process that saw a strong response from the market. Melbourne Water will take a 15-year lease on the building, which will provide 12,200 m2 of floorspace - about the same amount of space as it has now over several buildings.
Digital Harbour (Holdings) Pty Ltd has begun construction of the new building.
