National Recycling Week: 11-17 November 2013
National Recycling Week will be held from 11-17 November and Planet Ark is encouraging all Australians to join the recycling revolution at their home, school or workplace.
Planet Ark founded National Recycling Week as a community education campaign in 1996, with the aim of bringing a national focus to recycling and minimising waste.
Since then, recycling items like paper, printer cartridges, steel cans, beverage containers and other packaging has become second nature to Australians - but more education is necessary about what to do with items such as electronics and batteries, which now have recycling options.
Events such as the Schools Recycle Right Challenge, The Big Aussie Swap and Friday File Fling are designed to get schools, social or community groups and businesses recycling, in addition to the recycling actions people take at home.
Visit http://recyclingweek.planetark.org/ or call the National Recycling Hotline on 1300 733 712 for further information about any of Planet Ark’s National Recycling Week initiatives.
